How to Use a Scraper Correctly
- Glass scrapers should never be used on dry glass.
- Use the blade only on wet surfaces.
- This is best used with a cleaning agent that contains soap. This will lubricate the blade, and make it easier to see the area where the blade has been passed (think about it as if you were shaving your beard!
- Always scrape in one direction! Never pull back the scraper. Dirt on the blade may be pulled under the blade, causing scratches.
- Use even pressure while holding the blade flat on the glass. The edges of the blade may cause scratches.
- If the blade becomes dull, rusted or chipped, it should be reversed or changed.
- Regularly clean the blade by swishing in a bucket full of water.
- Keep your blades closed in work pouches. For your safety, always replace the cap on the blade or retract it.
