WIND ENERGY – BRINGING A BRIGHTER FUTURE
For thousands of years, people have harnessed wind power through the inventions of windmills and sailboats. Without the wind, ocean explorers would not have existed in the past. People are looking for alternative ways to power their machines, and the Earth is heating up due to the burning of fossil fuels. The wind is an energy source that results from uneven heating of the atmosphere caused by the sun. Wind energy isn’t polluting the atmosphere like fossil fuels and is, therefore, a clean power source. It has many advantages and can be beautiful and sustainable like any clean energy source.
WIND FORMATION IS NATURAL
You are creating your wind by blowing out your birthday candles. The Earth can also make wind. It is produced by large currents in Earth’s atmosphere that are powered by the sun’s heat energy. Wind can be harnessed as long as there is sunlight. The Earth’s surface has water and land. When the sun shines, the air heats up quickly. Heated air is lighter than usual and rises. Night falls when the reverse happens. These movements create wind and store a lot of kinetic energy.
RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES IN WIND ENERGY
The wind is a natural phenomenon that occurs regularly and naturally, so it can realistically replenish itself. Scientists believe the sun will shine for at least 6-7 billion years so that wind won’t dry. Wind energy is renewable and does not emit greenhouse gases that pollute the atmosphere or water.
THE EVENTUALITY OF ECO-FRIENDLY OPTIONS
Wind energy requires some production. It is necessary to manufacture, transport, and install wind turbines. Once the turbines have been installed, they produce clean energy, which more than makes up the difference.
Low Operating Costs translate to savings.
Although wind power requires capital upfront, it is relatively inexpensive to run once installed. They require routine maintenance to make sure they work seamlessly. However, their durability means they will last a long time. These cost savings translate to customers using wind energy to obtain the required power.
LANDSCAPE BEAUTY AND WIND ENERGY
It might seem dull and flat when you look out at the farmland. Add some wind turbines to the mix, and you have beautiful land. Even better, the land surrounding the turbines can still be used for agricultural purposes. Cattle can still be grazed right up to the base of the turbines. You can still farm the land around the turbines. They aren’t a waste of space and add beauty to the landscape.
